Drivers Education Classes
Parents, when it is time for your “baby” to learn to drive, trust them with Allied Learning Center. For us, driving is much more than go, stop, and turn. You want your new driver to learn how to drive safely and handle those unexpected situations. We can be trusted to go the extra mile. With our help, your teen will receive personalized instruction and gain an understanding of advanced driving techniques.
The student’s successful completion of the 30-hour driver’s education course requires each of the following:
- Punctual attendance for all class sessions. (Not even a minute late. DDS rules.)
- Reasonable attentiveness and participation in all class sessions.
- Makeup classes for missed sessions within 6 months. Once a session is missed, the student has to do all of the remaining sessions at a future time.
- Successfully passing a written examination with a grade of at least 70.
Students as young as 14 can participate in the 30-hour driver education course. Students must be at least 15 years of age and have a driver’s permit in their name before we can put them behind the wheel.
The student will receive a certificate of completion after the conclusion of the 30-hour course.
Possible insurance discount
Policies differ between insurance companies, but according to O.C.G.A 33-9-42, taking a driver’s education course CAN make you eligible for at least a 10% discount on your car insurance. Many companies give discounts when the student completes at least six hours with a certified driving instructor in addition to the drivers education course.
Tax credit
Allied Learning Center is a private company. According to O.C.G.A. 48-7-29.5, taking a driver’s education course with a private company will make you eligible to receive either a tax credit of the amount paid for the course or $150, whichever is less.
